FAQ
How do I proceed to participate and leave bids in the online auction? Am I registered for the auctions automatically?
No, whether it is for the online-only sale or the main sale, after creating your account, you must request registration by clicking on "register". At this stage you will need to fill in your details and wait for our team to validate your account. You will then receive a confirmation email telling you that you can now participate in the sale. Please note that this may take some time if your registration request is made outside office hours.
How do I place a bid?
Under each lot, you will find the "bid" button. By clicking on it, bidding levels appear. Choose the one you want, then validate with the green V. If you finally do not want to place bids, click on the cross.
Can I bid until the last moment?
It is possible to bid until the countdown reaches 0. If a bid is placed just before the end of the countdown, the time is extended by 5 minutes until no one bids during these 5 minutes.
When I place a bid, do I receive a notification?
When you place a bid and it wins, it says 'winning bid' and in brackets it shows the price you bid. If someone before you has placed a higher bid than you, their bid will be shown and it will say 'outbid'. It is possible that the amount is equal to your maximum if the person before you has placed the same amount. In this case, you only have to bid once more to be the winning bidder. You will only receive a notification if someone has outbid you and has exceeded your maximum bid.
Is it possible to change or cancel a bid?
Yes, it is possible to change your bid, but only upwards. So by clicking on "change bid", you can increase it.
Is it possible to create a favorites list?
Yes, by selecting the star under the photo of each lot.
Do I receive a notification when my lot goes up for sale in the online-only auction?
No, I only receive a notification if a bid exceeds my maximum bid.
Are there any extra charges if I bid online?
No, the fees are 23% VAT excluded, whether you are in the auction room or you place bids via our website or our application.
During the physical sale, at what starting price does the auctioneer start the bidding?
As before, the starting price is at the auctioneer's discretion. It can be either at the reserve price (confidential for items at the physical sale) or below. In this case, the auctioneer bids on behalf of the seller until the reserve price is reached, or above it if there are several absentee bids above this price.
Do I have to go through your site if I want to be called by phone or leave a fixed order for traditional sales?
As before, you can fill out an absentee bid or telephone order document and send it back to us with a copy of your ID. You will find these documents in the "information for buyers" section of our site.
Payment: can I pay with the card I registered to register?
We do not remotely charge the credit card you registered with. When a lot is sold to you, an invoice is sent to you. You can pay by bank transfer, in cash or on the spot by debit/postcard and credit card (2% extra)
Delivery: I live in France, can I have my lots delivered?
You live in Switzerland, France or elsewhere: for any question about delivery, please contact our services, we will be happy to find a solution (paying service depending on the object to be delivered). In case we could not deliver the parcel ourselves, we will send you the contact details of the professional carriers we work with.
